Wilmslow is a town in Cheshire and is just 11 miles south of Manchester. Wilmslow is one of the most desired places to live in the U.K.
The town is part of the Golden Triangle together with Alderley Edge and Prestbury. It grew in popularity in the Victorian era as a desirable area for wealthy North West (most generally Manchester) merchants to move out to once the railways arrived and connected the towns.
The town’s population is 30,000 (figure depends upon what you consider is the extent of Wilmslow)
Another 8,000 people live in the immediately surrounding area, including Alderley Edge

Wilmslow is best known for its famous residents which include William Roache, Stuart Hall, Alex Ferguson and Russell Watson. The most notable person to live in Wilmslow was Alan Turing. Alan Turing delivered the development of early computers and their use in codebreaking during World War 2.
Wilmslow is a great family town to live in and visit due to its shopping centre, parks, leisure centre, local cinema and resturants and bars. The packed town has lots to offer from in end to the other which is only a short walk.
